黏度 - 應該選擇黏度最低的潤滑劑來得到最滿意的容積效率,PROA隨溫度的增加而改善黏度。


比重 - 表示潤滑劑的密度。由於PROA的效能使其鹵化的阿爾發鍵(Halogenated Alpha Bond),引起密度的下降。一種建議測試方法是將黏度除以比重,就會求得一個基於密度上之黏度準確值。這個測量產生43.41100 SUNISO對應44.9795/5%之混合物上。調整過的黏度變化量是 -3.6%,或微微超過可接受之差額的三分之一。

溼氣含量  - 根據美孚石油(Mobile Oil)公司冷媒潤滑劑部門的一個代表所說,他們的產品→廣泛被使用的WHITEREX - 剛從工廠裝運出來大約是100ppm。開立建築物系統(Carrier Building Systems)從氯化物的立場發表議論。自由氯化物多於20ppm時,濕氣含量不應該超過100ppm,而自由氯化物少於20ppm時,因冷凍油型態的不同,數字可能高達300ppmPROA會緩衝自由氯化物(Free Chlorides);因此,PROA的效能同時在SUNISO測試中逐漸增加溼氣含量是在可接受的限制範圍內,同時也會在PROA安裝前即存在系統裡面鹵素(Halogens)增加,因而減少某些酸類形成的機會。


苯胺點 - 苯胺是一種芳香化合物而苯胺點是指潤滑劑和苯胺會互相溶解的溫度。PROA的成份含石蠟化合物(Paraffinic Compounds),通常比石腦油或芳香劑更不會使合成橡膠膨脹。有較高苯胺點的礦物油可能導致合成橡膠收縮並使密封件滲漏,這是一個對維修氟氯碳(CFC)冷媒設備者來說是非常要緊的因素。


抗氧化能力 - 依照ASHRAE,氧化反應在化學上是類似於油和冷媒之間的反應。由此可知,化學穩定性反應在密封管件測試時即可獲得抗氧化能力的測試。PROA增加抗氧化能力78.5%


電介質崩潰電壓 - 這是三件事情的一個好指標:在潤滑劑中沒有水分,配線和絕緣物的熱安定性,以及由於絕緣物吸收冷媒所引起的水泡和掉層。由於溫度的增加會產生較大的電介質損失以及冷媒的吸收發生,以物體來譬諭的話它可能比原體積高到15-30%。在80的礦物潤滑劑中,溼氣含量為50-70ppm25仟伏的電介質崩潰電壓表示在潤滑劑中不含水分。雖然通常都認為一個35KV電介質崩潰電壓是表示潤滑劑中的溼氣含量低於飽和值,20KV以上任何的數值都被認為是可接受的,故直接測量潤滑劑的總溼氣含量是最好的選擇。


邊界面形成能力 - 當受到FALEX測試時,即ASTM D-3233(93)/ D-2670,傳統合成潤滑劑在300psi處失效;實施PROA的安裝後,在4500psi處失效。這表示冷媒潤滑劑的界面形成能力(或保護能力)增加達1500%
